They will demand the presence of the head of INSABI in the Permanent Commission

The head of the Institute of Health for Well-Being (INSABI), Juan Ferrer, should be called to appear immediately before the Permanent Commission of the Congress of the Union, requested the bench of the National Action Party in the Chamber of Deputies.

Legislator Éctor Jaime Ramírez anticipated that his faction would make a formal request to the permanent parliamentary body that meets this Wednesday at the headquarters of the Senate of the Republic.

This call is made in the context of the meeting of the San Lazaro Health Commission to be held this Wednesday and in which Ferrer Aguilar is planned to participate, according to the call published in the Parliamentary Gazette.

The notification includes the participation of Juan Antonio Ferrer Aguilar for 15 minutes as the fourth item on the agenda for the Wednesday 17th meeting.

The format provides for two rounds of questions and answers, along with a message to the Chair of the Health Commission.

Deputy Ramírez Barba pointed out that the demand to call the head of INSABI before the permanent one is urgent, as the institution is about to become extinct after the approval of the majority disappears in Congress.

Federal officials still have to talk about discrepancies in the institution’s operations, irregularities in the use of its budget, and lack of access to health services for people without Social Security, which they had to participate in.

According to reports from the Ministry of Finance, INSABI used more than 770 billion pesos, in addition to the fact that more than 100 billion pesos “disappeared” from the health fund, and those resources were not disposed of. The good focus is reflected on the population, he said.

He added that the federal health ministry has also pointed out that in the last two years, less than 5 percent of the so-called FONSABI’s resources were directed towards the care of catastrophic diseases and the creation of infrastructure.

Meanwhile, 95 percent of the available resources would have been used for current spending or transferred to the Federation Treasury, so their final destination is unknown.

The MLA said the institution also failed to comply with its obligation to send a periodic report on its operations to the central Congress.

“Now it has disappeared (…) This lack of transparency and the misuse of public resources that have been committed since its creation cannot go unpunished,” he said.
