The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki is famous for its economical and better performance cars in the domestic market. Now the company has announced that it has sold more than 2.5 million Swift hatchbacks in the country so far. It has taken almost 16 years for Maruti Swift to achieve this position.
Let us tell you that in the year 2005, Maruti Suzuki launched its Maruti Swift car in the Indian market for the first time. Since then, this car has been updated several times and its different generations have been launched in the market. Earlier this year in February, the company introduced the facelift model of Maruti Swift.
In the year 2018, the company launched its third generation model, which was based on the company’s famous Heartect platform. Apart from making the car lightweight, this platform also improves its performance. This car is very famous in its segment and people like it very much.
Introduced in February this year, the price of the new Swift starts at Rs 5.85 lakh which goes up to Rs 8.67 lakh in the top model. Coming in a total of four variants, this car is also available with a dual tone paint scheme. The company has made some updates in its facelift model, due to which this car gives better performance and mileage than before.
The company has used a new powerful K12N petrol engine of 1.2 liters capacity in it. This engine generates 90bhp power and 113Nm torque. The new engine also gets a piston cooling jet, higher compression ratio and a cooled EGR system. However, the engine used in the previous model generates 82bhp power and 113Nm torque. That means the new car is more powerful.
Features include push start/stop button, keyless entry, automatic climate control, steering mounted controls and auto fold out side rear view mirrors (ORVM’s). The company claims that the manual variant of this car gives a mileage of 23.20 kmpl and the AGS transmission variant gives a mileage of 23.76 kmpl.
