This city of Maharashtra has a lockdown for a week from today

New Delhi: Nagpur, one of the fast-spreading areas of the corona virus in Maharashtra, will be placed under lockdown for a week from today. On March 11, the lockdown was decided in a meeting chaired by Nagpur Minister Nitin Raut.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had said on Thursday that strict lockdown measures would be implemented in some parts of the state to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Shops of essential commodities will remain open, liquor will be sold online
As per the order issued by the Nagpur district administration, only essential services such as vegetable and fruit shops and milk booths will remain open. Private offices will remain closed during the lockdown, while government offices will operate at 25 percent capacity.

Nagpur police commissioner Amitesh Kumar said that to prevent unnecessary travel, officials would conduct a traffic check that most offices and shops, besides groceries and pharmacies, should remain closed.

There were 2,252 new cases and 12 deaths in Nagpur in the last 24 hours.

Hospitals and medical shops will work
It is a curfew excluding essential services. Hospitals and medical shops will be functional and people going for vaccination will be facilitated.

COVID-19 cases are increasing in Maharashtra, as social ceremonies have increased and people are not following the proper behavior of COVID-19.

The Union Health Ministry, during its weekly press conference, expressed concern over the status of COVID-19 in Maharashtra and said that there has been a decrease in active cases due to testing, tracing and reduction of the appropriate behavior of COVID.

Nagpur has been reporting a spike in daily affairs since last month.

There were 16,620 new Kovid-19 cases and 54 deaths in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of cases in the state jumped to 22,52,057. The state currently has 1,00,240 active corona virus cases.

Currently, there are a total of 1,26,231 active cases in the state. The total death rate in the state is 52,861.

On Sunday, India saw more than 25,000 cases in the last 24 hours, the highest in nearly 3 months.

Apart from Nagpur, restrictions have been imposed in many cities.
