The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has explained how it will process migrants at its border points.

“The only way to enter the US is through the legal route. Use CBPOne to schedule an appointment at the Land Port of Entry”, they have reiterated to the US government.

Along these lines, CBP announced this Sunday that “all noncitizens entering the United States under Title 8 will be processed in an efficient, secure, and orderly manner.”
As of the information provided, travelers including Cubans under Title 8 will be processed in this order:
- Passengers with legal entry documents.
- Undocumented immigrants who have an appointment in the CBPone application.
- Unspecified without appointment.

As of May 10, CBP One transitioned to a new appointment scheduling system to deal with “volume issues around specific times of the day”.
This way, appointments would be available for 23 hours each day rather than at a fixed time, allowing for greater flexibility and access to the scheduling system.
Citizens will be able to request an appointment at any time during the entire 23-hour period per day, and if they are granted an appointment, they will have another 23-hour period to confirm it.
In addition, CBP is adding new citations each day, bringing the total to approximately 1,000, and will continually evaluate to expand the number of citations available as operations and efficiencies allow.
United States Customs and Border Protection has notified that in case of errors in the system, users will need to update the CBP One application on their mobile device to function properly.
