This is the best way to make trendy vegetable bimmy

Eating vegetables isn’t always easy, especially for young children. Which is why involving them in dishes that appeal to them, presenting them in new ways and not repeating the same recipe over and over again goes a long way in getting kids and adults to taste healthy food.

One of the latest inclusions in supermarket refrigerators can be a great ally for this. We’re talking about Bimi, the trendy vegetable that is visually a cross between broccoli and asparagus, but actually originated from a mixture of broccoli and a variety of Chinese cabbage. Its mild and slightly sweet taste makes it easily liked by children. And best of all is its great contribution of nutrients: potassium, calcium, zinc, folic acid, antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin B6…

Plus, it’s a very versatile vegetable that can be eaten raw in salads and grilled or baked with meat or fish. It is also a great ally for vegetarians and vegans, as it can easily become a main dish.

But in this article we are going to focus on what makes Bhimi attractive for little kids. So why not incorporate it into some fajitas. And it is that not only will it provide those sweet notes that are so tempting, but it will also add that crunchy touch that improves any dish.

Fajitas with Bimi

  • Wheat Tortillas
  • Onion
  • One red, one green and one yellow capsicum
  • a chicken breast
  • 400 grams Bimi
  • two avocados
  • grated cheese
  • Spices to taste: salt, black pepper, sweet paprika, garlic powder…

  • The first step is to fry the onions and chillies at medium temperature. The point of cooking will depend on the taste of each one.
  • When the vegetables start to become soft, add chopped chicken to it. Fry for a few minutes and add spices.
  • Once the chicken is almost done, put it on the stove at a low temperature.
  • The next step is to make the Bimi, which we’ll prepare on the grill. Frying for about two minutes on each side is enough to give the fajitas that ‘crisp’ point.
  • Once everything is ready, all that remains is to slice the avocado.
  • To assemble the fajitas, the first thing to do is give the tortillas a touch in the pan. On the bottom put chicken with avocado, bimmy, cheese and then vegetables.
  • Switch off and enjoy.
