WhatsApp, whether we like it or not, has become the main method of communication between millions of people around the world and, as a good self-respecting application, offers various options to ensure user privacy.
To know if someone has read a message we sent, WhatsApp provides us with check marks. Depending on the number and color, this means that the message was sent but not received (one gray checkmark), that it was received but not read (two gray checkmarks), or that it was received and read (two blue checkmarks). ). . Within the privacy options, the Meta group messaging application allows us to disable the two blue ticks that appear when someone has received and read a message, providing greater privacy.
However, when we enable this option so that no one knows when we have received or read a message, we also apply it to our account so that we do not know whether someone has received and read a message, but only shows both. gray checkmarks confirming that the message was sent and received correctly.
The operation of this data protection option is only available for Messages between individuals not between groups, so we can use a little trick to find out if someone has read our messages. Although this is not a 100% reliable method, it is always better than having no information about it, especially when it comes to an important topic.
How to know if someone has read my WhatsApp messages
As we mentioned in the previous paragraph, the possibility of hiding whether we have read a WhatsApp message only exists between individual chats, these rules do not apply to groups. In this way, if we are part of a group in which the person we want to confirm that he has read the message we sent individually is also present, we can send a message to the group and confirm if he has read it .
To know if a person has read the message that we sent to a group through WhatsApp or the Windows application, we must select any message that we have sent, click on the down arrow and select the option News information.
Next, a panel will appear on the right with the day and time the group members read the message. If our recipient doesn’t appear in the “Read by” section, that means they didn’t read it.
The same information is also available in the mobile version of WhatsApp by pressing and holding on any message that we have sent to a group and clicking on the icon represented by a me in a circle.
This feature is also available when we share photos or videos. There is always the possibility that the recipient of our private message has so many unread messages that when the group notification sounds, they have only read those and not all of the pending conversations. It’s not a foolproof method, but it will always be better have no information.
