Maruti Suzuki Baleno
In October 2021, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno became the best-selling premium hatchback. It sold 15,573 units last month, down 29 percent from October 2020. It sold 21,971 units in October last year. The price of this hatchback starts from Rs 5.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.45 lakh It is powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine, combined with a 5-speed manual and CVT transmission.

Tata Altroz became the second bestseller in the premium hatchback segment last month. Tata Altroz sold 5,128-units in October 2021, up from 6,730-units in the same period last year. Thus, sales of Altroz decreased by 24 percent. The price of this hatchback starts from Rs 5.84 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.59 lakh It comes in three engine options – 1.2-liter petrol (86PS / 113Nm), 1.2-liter turbo petrol (110PS / 140Nm), and 1.5-liter diesel (90PS / 200Nm).

The Hyundai i20 finished third in the premium hatchback segment last month. Hyundai i20 sold 4,414 units in October 2021. 6,399 units were sold during the same period last year. Thus, i20 sales decreased by 46 percent. The price of this hatchback starts from Rs 6.91 lakh and goes up to Rs 11.40 lakh It comes in three engine options – 1.2-liter petrol (83PS / 114Nm), 1-liter turbo petrol (120PS / 172Nm), and 1.5-liter diesel (100PS / 240Nm).
