Three accidents this morning caused traffic delays on Panamericana and Route 8. The biggest accident among them occurred at kilometer 47.8 of the Panamericana towards the city of Buenos Aires. It was a triple accident in which three people were injured.
As reported by police sources, the accident was caused by a Toyota Corolla that was being driven by a 50-year-old man from Los Polvorines, who lost control of the car after hitting a guardrail. Two companions, aged 30 and 32, from San Miguel and Grand Bourg respectively, traveled with him. All three suffered multiple trauma, for which they were shifted to Sanguinetti Hospital for treatment.
The second vehicle to be affected was a Fiat Palio in which a 37-year-old man living in Exaltación de la Cruz was traveling, who was safe. While the third was a Volkswagen Gol Trend driven by a 32-year-old man from San Miguel, who was also taken by ambulance to the hospital in the center of Pilar with injuries in the chest area. Highway Police and Patrol Command personnel intervened.
The accident has been combined with another incident in the early hours of the morning, in the town of La Lonja, in the vicinity of that site. In this case, the accident occurred between a car and a motorcycle on Route 8 and Sarawie.
Similarly, Mano a Pilar, at Kilometer 57 of the Pan-American Highway, was also the scene of an accident this morning, due to which significant traffic delays are recorded on the highway.
