Three free artificial intelligences that do incredible things

One of the most discussed topics in 2022 was the development of Artificial Intelligence, His achievements in recent times have been remarkable: from creating songs that could have been signed by the Beatles or the Beach Boys, to creating illustrated portraits of people who shared a selection of their own profile photos with the app.

Other artificial intelligences can, for example, design scenarios or images requested of them. Social networks are where these models have been seen a lot: famous people in unrealistic situations, futuristic prototypes and apocalyptic cities were popular.

The following three highlights of what artificial intelligence is capable of, which can be accessed by anyone at no cost, shed some light on the scope of the subject in the coming years.

Crayon

In line with the artificial intelligence mentioned at the beginning of this lesson, Crayon is a generator of images from the text. All you have to do is login to their website (craiyon.com) and type in the text field in English the image you want to create. It’s an accessible, agile and fun tool for those with more artistic intentions and who just want to create wacky images.

If the desired image is not obtained, then the command must be written in another way (with different words or with greater accuracy). It is important to note that, even if two people use the same word to request an image, the platform will never create a model that is identical to the other.

These are two designs made to order inspired by a famous character from the world of artificial intelligence animation: “a Pikachu that looks like a pug dog” and “a Pikachu painting with the style of Van Gogh”.

OpenAI

To use this artificial intelligence, you have to register first. Although the platform is in English, OpenAI understands instructions in Spanish very well. The design of the website (chat.openai.com) is intuitive, so its use should not cause complications.

When asked about the origin of its name from Artificial Intelligence, it replies that it comes from “an Artificial Intelligence Research Organization based in San Francisco, California”. It was founded in 2015 by Elon Musk, Sam Altman, Greg Brockman, Ilya Sutskever, Wojciech Zaremba, and John Schulman with the goal of developing and promoting AI technologies in an ethical and responsible manner.

The interesting thing about OpenAI is that it gives results when given commands. For example, for the request: “Write a vampire story imitating the prose of Gabriel García Márquez”, the artificial intelligence, in a short amount of time, reads the following:

“Night fell on the city as the vampires came out of hiding. It was a dark and stormy night, with lightning flashing across the sky and a strong wind blowing. Vampires move with elegance and grace, as if they are dancing with a storm.

They were ancient beings with cold and terrifying beauty at the same time. Their eyes gleamed with an inner fire, a fire that consumed their souls and kept them young and mighty. Each of them carried with them a story, a story of love, hate, evil and sacrifice.

One of them stopped in front of an old house with its shutters drawn and the windows dimly lit. It was the home of his beloved, the woman he had been in love with for centuries. The woman who turned him into a vampire.

The door opened and she appeared, her beauty intact and her gaze full of mystery. He greeted them with a smile and invited them inside. She accepted and followed him, knowing that this night would be special.

Together they wandered through the rooms of the house, talking about things old and new, about their lives and their dreams. The night passed, and soon it was dawn. The vampire said goodbye to his beloved, promising to see her again soon.

And so lived the vampires, in an eternal night of love and loneliness, in a world full of secrets and dangers, but also full of beauty and passion.

It’s clear that imitating another writer’s style is a difficult task, even for an artificial intelligence, but we shouldn’t overlook how impressive it is to see a computer create a story with structure and coherence. and imitates the features that are considered to be the author’s style. An author’s prose.

l doodle de bach

To celebrate JS Bach’s birthday, on March 21, 2019, Google launched a Doodle in which users could place notes on a score and have an artificial intelligence study them to generate a piece with a structure similar to Bach’s.

Although it’s a simple doodle that will make many people think it has some video game in it, the truth is that most artificial intelligence-generating songs are dedicated to or cost professional musicians.

This artificial intelligence, one of the simplest and most accessible of its kind, can be used here: google.com/doodles/celebrating-johann-sebastian-bach
