Tiger and Charlie Woods tied for eighth at PNC Championship

At the PNC Championship, the team of Tiger and Charlie Woods thrilled, carding 18 birdies and two eagles in the event’s 36 holes, but it was not enough to be successful and they finished tied for eighth.

In general, the Woods team finished with -20 shots at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, six shots behind the winning team of Vijay and Kas Singh, who finished with -26 shots in the exhibition tournament for parents. The first victory was won by Son, followed by a series of second and third places.

Singh won by two strokes over defending champion John Daly and his son and 2020 winner Justin Thomas and his father.

The eighth place for Woods this Sunday adds to a seventh and second place finish achieved in three appearances at the PNC.

Although Tiger and Charlie missed their final target, there were plenty of shots and memorable moments throughout the weekend in Central Florida. They both agreed that they enjoyed it.

“It was great to be with dad after working so hard to get here, school for me and just injury for him,” said 13-year-old Charlie Woods. “It was wonderful to be there with a great atmosphere and everyone there.”

Woods and his son were out of contention with a bogey on the seventh hole, both going into deep woods.

Woods’ team had their best shots on Saturday, keeping them in the final group and in hopes of the Willie Park Trophy.

On Sunday, Woods hit his approach on the par-5 fifth from 15 feet, and Charlie hit an eagle putt to within two shots of the lead. But at least he was the best at golf.

In his third year playing in the tournament, it was the first time Woods allowed his son to join him for an interview, and the boy complied.

“I think he already knew what he was capable of, and (Saturday) he played the best he’s played in a long time. And it hit me a little bit,” Charlie said. Used to be nice,” Woods replied.

Woods is saying he still has every opportunity, it’s just a matter of walking, this time he used a cart at the PGA Tour Champions-sanctioned event, still limping from plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

The winner of 15 majors, who has insisted on playing at a good level since his car crash in February 2021, got many excited after shining well in Saturday’s round.
