Tata Nexon
No prizes for guessing that the Nexon once again tops the SUV sales charts for June. It has taken the top spots in the last 6 months. So what are the reasons for its dominance? It should have a high safety rating and characteristics. Tata sold 14,295 units of Nexon in June 2022. It sold 14,614 units in May 2022.
Top SUVs in June – Hyundai Creta
The Nexon’s heels are the Hyundai Creta with 13,790 units sold in June. In the last two to three months, the Creta is slowly giving competition to the Nexon. Will Creta be able to beat Nexon? Only time will tell. As a product, Creta is known for its features and wide range of options.
Tata Punch
Second on the list is Tata Car Punch. Tata took a big gamble with launching the micro-SUV, but the punch continues to do well for Tata. It single-handed the micro-SUV segment. Tata sold 10,414 units in June. It sold 10,241 units in May.
Hyundai Venue
Completing the Hyundai-Tata sandwich is the new Venue. Hyundai launched the new Venue on June 16 and it has been selling well. The new Venue comes with new designs and features. Hyundai sold 10,321 units in June 2022. It sold 10,241 units in May.
Top SUVs in June – Kia Seltos
Kia’s Seltos is at the forefront of sales. Seltos helped establish Kia in India, and it continues to strengthen the brand. Why is Seltos so popular? It is famous for its bold design and features. Kia sold 8,388 units in June 2022. Significant increase from 5,953 units in May.

After the Seltos, came this younger brother, the Sonnet. With its launch, the Sonnet made a splash in the compact SUV segment. So is the hype dead? Certainly not, as the Sonnet has stabilized its sales at 5000 to 7000 units. Kia sold 7,455 units in June. It sold 7,899 units in May.
Mahindra XUV700
The XUV700 is slowly climbing the sales charts. As a product, the XUV700 has a huge list of pending orders, but Mahindra is still navigating through chip shortages and manufacturing capacity constraints. Mahindra sold 6,022 units in May. In comparison, it sold 5,069 units in June.
Top SUV in June- Toyota Urban Cruiser
Surprisingly, Toyota Urban Cruiser has made it to the list of best selling SUVs. So why is it surprising? This is surprising because with the launch of the new Brezza, Toyota may soon bring the new urban cruiser as well. So from sales, it looks like people are still going for the Urban Cruiser. Toyota sold 5,301 units in May. Nice growth from 3,128 units sold in May.
