Toyota has launched a limited edition of its urban SUV with an aim to extend the commercial cycle of a model due in 2021 and offer a very complete set of equipment at a discounted price. Thus was born the Toyota Yaris Cross JBL Edition, of which only 200 units will be sold in Spain.
On the outside, this limited-run Yaris Cross gets Kaji Orange two-tone bodywork along with a Toyota SkyBuy sunroof. As standard, it mounts 17-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting system with AHB function in the front light clusters and tinted rear windows. Apart from this, it also has ‘JBL’ badge.
On the inside, the Toyota Yaris Cross JBL Edition gets an Urban Blue fabric upholstery with Kazi Orange accents. The front seats are heated, the rear seats are adjustable and the ambient lighting benefits from a blue tint.
The Toyota Smart Connect infotainment system features a 9-inch screen and is joined by a total of eight premium speakers signed by JBL. It also has a wireless charger for mobile devices.
In the mechanical section, the JBL Limited Edition retains the conventional hybrid propulsion system, which produces 116 horsepower and 120 Newton meters of peak torque. In this trim, only front-wheel drive is available, as is the case with the Bussines Plus, Active Tech and Style trims. All-wheel drive is only available on the Adventure trim.
The Toyota Yaris Cross JBL Edition costs 27,450 euros, a cost that includes all of the above and, in addition, each of the 200 buyers of this exclusive finish will also receive JBL Flip Essential 2 portable speakers and JBL Tune Flex wireless speakers. headphones.
These Yaris Cross units are already being produced at the French plant in Valenciennes and the first deliveries will take place in June.
We must also remember that the manufacturer will introduce an SUV of similar size on June 5 but under its premium brand Lexus and with the LBX name. The Yaris Cross is expected to use the same hybrid powertrain as the manufacturer believes that hybridisation is the most sensible bet, at least for now.
