Tracking COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout in Toronto

In addition to updating you daily on COVID-19 cases in Toronto, toronto.com is keeping track of each COVID-19 vaccine offered in the city.

As of 8 a.m. on January 20, Toronto Public Health (TPH) is reporting that 6,387,824 vaccine doses have been given, after 41,225 shots have been given since January 17.

The chart below uses in-depth data published by TPH, which is updated twice weekly. The data in this chart is for January 20th.

The province has prioritized who gets the vaccine in the three-phase rollout:

  • Phase 1 (December 2020 to March 2021): Residents, employees, essential caregivers and other workers residing in living settings for senior citizens; health care workers, including hospital workers, staff working or studying in hospitals, and health care workers; Adults in First Nations, Métis and Inuit populations and adult recipients of older home health care.
  • Phase 2 (March to July 2021): Roughly 8.5 million people live in groups such as seniors and work in high-risk collective settings such as shelters, front-line workers, individuals with high-risk chronic conditions and their caregivers, and others who seek health care across Ontario. There are constraints related to determinants. who are in greater COVID-19.
  • Phase 3 (August 2021 and onwards, depending on the availability of vaccines): The remaining Ontarians in the general population who want to get the vaccine will receive it.
