Travis Kelce is taking some time off amid recent romance rumors.
After sparking dating speculation with Taylor Swift, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end clarified his relationship status in a new interview.
“It’s hilarious how much traction this has actually had. It’s like a game of telephone right now,” the NFL star said during his Sept. 21 appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. Referring to his brother’s recent comment, he added: “Nobody really knows what’s going on, especially when you see Jason Kelce on live TV telling people both sides – he doesn’t know, it’s true, this and that.”
However, when it comes to the future, he doesn’t completely reject the idea and realizes that he’s shot his shot.
“I threw it out there, I threw the ball in their court,” Kelce continued. “I told her, you know, I saw you rocking the stage at Arrowhead (Stadium), you might have to come over and see me rocking the stage at Arrowhead and see which one is a little brighter. So, we’ll see what happens in the near future.”
The NFL player first sparked excitement about a possible romance with the “Cruel Summer” singer in July. At the time, he admitted he tried to get his shot in as Taylor arrived in Kansas City for her Eras Tour concert.

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t speak before or after her performances because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings,” Kelce told his brother Jason on his New Heights podcast. “It hurt me a little that I couldn’t give her one of the bracelets I made for her.”
Kelce, 33, shared that the friendship bracelet in question had his number on it, prompting his brother to ask, “Your number as in 87 or your phone number?”
But Kelce didn’t reveal his game plan, adding, “You know which one.”
And while Travis hasn’t previously addressed the furore, Jason recently shared his own perspective on the matter. “I don’t really know what’s going on,” he continued TNF nightcap September 14: “I know Trav is having fun, we’ll see what happens with whoever he ends up with.”
Days later, Jason poked fun at the excitement, which was fueled by reports that his brother and Swift were hanging out.
“I try to run his business like it’s his own business and stay out of that world. But still, I think he’s doing great and I think it’s all 100 percent true,” he previously said on NFL GameDay Morning on Sept. 17, quipping, “No, I’m kidding, I don’t know what’s happening.”
Kelce, a two-time Super Bowl winner with the Chiefs, former influencer Kayla Nicole and reality star Maya Benberry.
Swift had a brief romance with The 1975 singer Matty Healy following her split from Joe Alwyn in April, before they went their separate ways in June.
