PHILADELPHIA — Taylor Swift has taken Travis Kelce’s fame to new heights, and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has already spoken after the pop star made an appearance at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
“Shout out to Taylor for the pull. That’s pretty ballsy,” Kelce said. “I just thought it was amazing how everyone in the suite had nothing but great things to say about him. Friends and family. He looked great. Everyone was talking about him in a good way. that light. for Chiefs fans, of course. We wrote it all, ladies and gentlemen.”
Swift attended the Chiefs’ 41-10 blowout win Sunday against the Chicago Bears, which led to a 400% increase in sales of Kelce’s jersey. Kelce had seven catches for 69 yards and a touchdown, but Swift doubled his broadcast screen time.
So how did Swift and Kelce get here?
It started with Kelce revealing that he tried to give her his phone number in the form of a friendship bracelet when his Eras Tour was in Kansas City earlier this year.
Eventually, rumors started swirling that Kelce and Swift were dating, leading to “New Heights” co-host and Eagles center Jason Kelce twice having to address the speculation.
And then Swift showed up at the Chiefs-Bears game on Sunday.
“I know I brought all the attention to me, I did the whole friendship thing and told everyone how upset I was that I didn’t meet Taylor,” Kelce said on Wednesday’s podcast. “You miss 100% of the (shots) you can’t take, kid.
“What’s true is that this is my personal life. I want to respect both of our lives. He’s not in the media like I do on this show every week. … enjoying life and I’m sure as hell enjoying this end of week. So everything going on, I think talking about sports and saying ‘everything now’ should be kind of where I put it.”
