Port of Spain, Trinidad-Trinidad and Tobago Health Minister Terrence Dealsingh on Wednesday slammed American journalist Nicki Minaj’s claim that a man on the Caribbean island had swollen testicles after receiving the Covid-1 vaccine.
The Trinidadian-born Minaj sparked an international outcry when he complained on Twitter that his cousin in Trinidad refused to take a vaccine because his friend became disabled after being vaccinated.
“Her testicles are swollen. Her friend was a few weeks away from getting married, now the girl has stopped getting married, ”Minaj, who has 22.6 million Twitter followers, said on Monday.

The comments provoked an international outcry, with senior US and British coronavirus officials condemning the claim.
Dayalsingh also condemned the Grammy-nominated artist’s statement as a waste.
“One of the reasons we can’t respond to Miss Minaj in real time is because we have to check whether what she’s claiming is true or false. “Unfortunately, we wasted a lot of time yesterday in the wake of this false claim,” Deyalsingh said.
Asked about Minaj’s tweet, Dr. Anthony Anthony Fawcett, a top U.S. infectious disease specialist, said there was a lot of misinformation on social media.
“I’m not blaming him for anything – but he should think twice about disseminating information that has no real basis, except a single anecdote, and science is not that.”
In a separate tweet, Minaj said he had not done enough research on the Covid-1 vaccine at once for the Met Gala, a star-studded fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Later, Minaj added that he would be vaccinated for travel.
On Wednesday, the rapper tweeted that he was going to discuss it at the White House.
The White House has invited me and I think it’s a step in the right direction. Yes, I’m going. I would legally wear all pink like blonde so they know I mean business. I will ask questions on behalf of PPL who have just been fun to be human. #Bolgate Day 3 https://t.co/PSa3WcEjH3
