A low pressure area associated with a tropical wave is developing in the Pacific Ocean and has an 80 percent chance of developing into a cyclone in the next 48 hours, according to the National Meteorological Service (SMN).
In fact, the same source highlights that there will be 90% cyclone development in the next seven days.
Which countries could be affected by this tropical wave?
The SMN reported that the tropical wave in question is located approximately 1,500 miles (2,500 km) southwest of Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, and is moving northwest at speeds between 10 and 15 mph (16 to 24 km/h).
