TOLUCA, ADOMEX (APRO). – At least 15 people have been injured so far after a van carrying tourists overturned in the vicinity of the Chinentecatl volcano, Mexico State Civil Protection officials reported.
The incidents happened on Wednesday morning very close to the summit of Nevado de Toluca in a place known as “Las Antenas”.

Authorities said a 61-year-old woman was airlifted for possible spinal injuries and a 32-year-old man for possible chest trauma.
According to officials of the General Coordination of Civil Protection and Comprehensive Risk Management, it was through 911 that the accident was reported, so units of the Emergency Service of the State of Mexico (SUEM), the Rescue Group Air “Lightning” and the State Civil of Toluca and the municipality, as well as elements of the state police to care for the wounded.
The state government reported that the intervention of two “Lightning” helicopters was necessary for pre-hospital care and air transport of the two injured.
A 61-year-old woman was transferred to the “Adolfo López Mateos” Medical Center due to possible spinal and pelvic injuries and hypothermia, as well as a 32-year-old man with difficulty breathing due to possible chest trauma, who was Both were airlifted to the General Hospital “Doctor Nicolás San Juan” in Toluca.
It was also reported that two more injured were treated at the crash site and the rest were transferred to area hospitals by SUEM and the Red Cross. There is no death reported.
