Repair work continues on Trunk 10 in the south of Bolivar State. This time they are focused on 49 kms.
The authority of the regional higher transportation body, José Batella, informed that the said section, located in the municipality of Sifontes, will be closed for eight consecutive hours from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
This is due to the closure of the drainage channel and the installation of the spillway with 48″ pipe, the start of sanitation and sewer construction.
“At the time that will be closed, to be able to drain properly, it is necessary to drain the water and then empty the sewer,” he explained.
Betella pointed out that only small vehicles would have passage in the trunk; Goods vehicles and buses will have to wait eight hours before the blockade before they can move again.
Background on trunk 10
It is not the first time that the competent authorities are paying attention to this kilometer, the section collapsed in early March, cutting off several adjacent communities.
The concrete pipe arrived months ago to begin construction of transverse drainage in the said kilometer of Trunk 10, said – at the time – the People’s Power Ministry’s Regional Director for Transportation, Juan Jose Mendez.
The steel also reached for structural reinforcement of reinforced concrete, which was supplied by the Ministry of Popular Power for Industry and National Production, where they were carrying out sanitation work.
The closure disrupts communications with the south of Bolivar state as well as cargo transport and mobilization along the border with Brazil.
These works have also added to the protests at other points on the trunk for various reasons, affecting drivers of this important road artery.
