After a truck driver in Queensland tested positive for COVID-19 after traveling to New South Wales (NSW), the Queensland government issued a public health alert, and New South Wales is in the midst of a serious CCP virus Delta mutation outbreak .
The latest contact tracing alert on the Queensland Health website on September 1 named the areas of Archerfield, Goondiwindi and Bundamba as exposed locations.
The details are few, but on September 2, Queensland Governor Annastacia Palacazuk stated on Facebook that the truck driver lived in Queensland and went to New South Wales.
The day before, a New South Wales truck driver entering Queensland tested positive for the virus.
A press release from the Queensland Health Department stated that the truck driver entered Queensland on August 25 and returned to New South Wales on August 26.
A spokesperson for the New South Wales Department of Health said in a statement: “It is understood that they spent a day in Queensland, but they may be contagious.”
“The case is currently under quarantine in New South Wales, and investigations into its source of infection are ongoing.”
The Governor of Queensland expressed concern that her state would be damaged by the Delta variant of the Chinese Communist virus like New South Wales.
“If New South Wales is a role model for all of us, then it needs to be discussed seriously,” she wrote on Facebook on September 2.
