A Delhi court has granted bail to JNU alumnus leader Omar Khalid. A case was registered against him at Khajuri Special Police Station for his involvement in the Delhi riots. The court said that the investigation in this case has been completed and the charge sheet has also been filed, so now the hearing is likely to take a long time. Umar Khalid was taken into judicial custody on 10 October 2020.
in this matter Umar Khalid An FIR was registered against 25 February 2020. The case is related to violence in Khajuri Khas in north-east Delhi. This was the second FIR (FIR No. 101/2020) under which he was arrested on October 1 last year.
While granting bail to the former JNU student leader and the accused of anti-Hindu riots in Delhi, Karkardooma Court Additional Judge Vinod Yadav said, “Umar Khalid cannot be imprisoned for eternity just because the riot mob in this case is just now More people involved in it are to be identified and many other arrests are also to be made. ” He granted a bail of Rs 20,000 and on condition of appearing on every hearing. On release from jail, asked to provide his number to the SHO of Khajuri Khas police station. Along with this, it was also asked to ensure that the mobile is repaired and ‘Arogya Setu’ app is downloaded in it.
Bailed out The condition is also Omar Khalid will not attempt to tamper with the evidence as well as try to influence the witnesses. At the same time, he will maintain an atmosphere of peace and brotherhood in his surroundings.

This case is related to the violence on Main Karawal Nagar Road near Chandbagh Pulia. The riots took place at the behest of the main accused Tahir Hussain. It was argued on behalf of Khalid that during that time he was not present there nor was there any direct evidence of the meeting between him and Tahir. It was argued against him that the mob instigated by him wanted to cause maximum harm to the people and property of other communities.
Taking cognizance of the charge sheet 3 months ago, the court said that according to prima facie findings, JNU student leader Omar Khalid and AAP councilor Tahir Hussain had conspired in the North-East Delhi riots – There are reasonable grounds to believe. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Dinesh Kumar said these things. The court said that this statement is sufficient to show that Omar Khalid was in constant contact with the main accused Tahir parts of the Delhi riots during the said period.

It is important to know that despite getting bail in this case, Omar Khalid will not be able to get out of jail. He was detained in another case (FIR 59) even before the FIR was registered in this case. Sections of UAPA have also been imposed against him in this case. That is, he will remain in jail till bail is found in FIR 59.
