UNAOC and BMW Group announce the 10 winners of the Intercultural Innovation Center

Winning projects range from promoting diversity and inclusion to advancing gender equality, through art, sport and social change.

Ten grassroots projects were awarded to the prestigious Intercultural Innovation Center at a ceremony held in Berlin, Germany. The Intercultural Innovation Center, a collaboration between the United Nations League of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the BMW Group, supported by Accenture, recognizes and encourages grassroots initiatives that promote intercultural dialogue and contribute to peace, cultural diversity and inclusive societies.

This year, organizations from Germany, Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Israel, Jordan, Mexico and South Africa were selected. Her projects range from advancing diversity and inclusion to promoting gender equality, social change through art and sport.

“Civil society is evolving in dynamic and impactful ways, with grassroots innovations in the face of significant change. The institutions we recognized through the Intercultural Innovation Center are exemplary. We are proud to increase the contribution of diversity, mutual respect. We also celebrate our inclusion with a long-term cooperation with the BMW Group, while We continue to unite, enrich and elevate these grassroots initiatives, “Miguel Angel Moratinos, UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative of the UNAOC.”

• Oasis ‘Dream’ (South Africa) – Community Street Soccer/Netball

• Tech2Peace (Israel) – New thing: Israelis and Palestinians innovate together

• Ixcanul Foundation (Guatemala) – Traveling film

• Get Talent Program / PAUTA (Mexico) – Empowering girls and young people from vulnerable groups and communities in Mexico with knowledge

• Receiving Australia (Australia).

• Wasel for Awareness and Education (Jordan) – Shabbek Wa Bader

• SWANS Initiative (Germany) – More Laws in Leadership

• Fundación Barranquilla+20 (Colombia) – Women for Climate Justice
