To avoid justice, it is common for drunk drivers to change places with passengers, but a man from Colorado, USA, crossed all limits.
At about 11:30 a.m. local time on May 13, a car was traveling at more than 80 kilometers per hour on a road near Main St., in an area where only 45 kilometers are allowed.
Immediately, a police patrol followed the vehicle and intercepted it a few meters ahead; However, when a policeman was walking towards the car, he saw how the person he was driving changed the seat. Only then did they come to know that it was a drunk driver.
Based on his experience, the policeman went directly to the passenger seat and asked the subject for his documents. During this the drunk driver kept insisting that he was not driving the car.
Only then did the officer learn that the ‘pilot’ of the car was a dog. Yes, the drunk driver tried to trick the police into believing that his dog was the one driving.
“She attempted to switch places with her dog, who was in the passenger seat, while the officer arrived and observed the entire process,” the police department said.
What happened to the puppy?
The driver tried to flee from the spot, but the police caught him after a few meters.
Ultimately, the drunk driver will face charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and obstruction of justice.
But what happened to the puppy? According to the police statement, the dog was handed over to an acquaintance of the driver, who will take care of it while the criminal regains his freedom. The pet only received a verbal warning, or at least that’s what the police said.
“The dog was given to an acquaintance of the driver to care for while its owner is in jail. The dog has not been charged and was let off with a warning only.”
