US Consulate in Monterrey Recognizes Security Work in Zacatecas

Governor David Monreal Avila held a meeting with United States Consul Roger C. Rigaud in Monterrey, in which they discussed issues such as security, migration and economic development.

During the meeting, the US consul acknowledged the government of Zacatecas and David Monreal for their work on security, as actions taken in coordination with the government of Mexico, reflect a decrease in crime rates in the territory.

Likewise, under the legal and diplomatic framework of both countries, an action agenda was established in terms of migration to strengthen bilateral relations, always seeking the benefit of the Zacatecan population.

In this sense, there was talk of strengthening labor mobility, since it was recognized that Zacatecas has a skilled labor force.

The Governor and the US Consul agreed that it was necessary to maintain a constant and close dialogue to address the challenges in terms of security, employment, education and development.

In addition, he expressed his desire to strengthen ties and ties with the Zacatecan community in the neighboring country to the north in order to promote the well-being of citizens who have decided to emigrate.

During his speech, David Monreal stressed that cooperation between the countries is necessary given the importance of the Zacatecan diaspora in the United States, as countrymen not only as workers, but also in various fields such as politics, business, and other fields.
