US experts to help Mexico save miners – Nation World News

Experts from the United States of America (USA) will join a team of experts from Mexico working to rescue 10 miners trapped since the beginning of the month at the Sabina mine in the northern state of Coahuila.

This information was released by Mexico’s National Civil Defense Coordinator, Laura Velázquez, during the morning press conference of the nation’s president, Andres Manuel López Obrador.

According to Telesur, Velázquez reported that the US company had been contacted for analysis and advice on rescue operations at the El Pinabette mine.

He explained that he was provided with information on the status of the work so that he would arrive with a formed opinion.

During the conference, Velázquez reported that the water level in the well had returned to normal, so he hoped to continue the work.

On Tuesday afternoon, work on the installation of a new pump in well 2 was carried out, which was attended by volunteer miners and personnel from the National Water Commission (Conagua), the official said.

It should be remembered that, this Monday, the Civil Defense presented a new plan to be able to save the miners.

Consideration has been given to continuing permanent water pumping, identifying vacant sites and drilling 20 six-inch holes to a depth of 60 meters in the abandoned Conchas Norte mine, it said.

After this process, it will try to inject cement to create a barrier that blocks the passage of water between the mines.
