The President of the United States, Joe Biden, reportedly experienced mild symptoms of body aches among several other symptoms that were positive for COVID-19. The president’s doctor, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, said Biden was most likely exposed to the Omicron ba.5 subvariant, which is now spreading.
“The main symptoms, although not particularly bothersome, now include sore throat, rhinorrhea (runny nose), cough and body aches,” the president’s doctor, Dr. O’Connor, wrote in the report.
“His voice remained deep. His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature remained normal. His oxygen saturation in the room air remained excellent. His lungs remained clear,” he continued.
O’Connor also reported that Biden has completed the second day of his treatment with Paxlovid and will continue to take antiviral medication. Remember, Biden is now 79 years old and the oldest US President ever. Biden’s advanced age put Biden at risk of severe symptoms and death from COVID-19, despite receiving four doses of the vaccine until he was treated with paxclovid.
Biden tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday (21/7) a day after delivering a speech and less than a week after returning from a meeting in Saudi Arabia.
However, according to a White House report, Biden has mild symptoms of COVID-19. Dr. O’Connor suspects that Biden is infected with the Omicron BA.5 subvariant.
“The BA.5 variant is highly contagious and Biden will continue to be isolated. We will continue to monitor him closely during this very common outpatient treatment,” said Dr. O’Connor.
