US states where jobless claims are falling the most

WalletHub, the website specializing in business and financial information, presented a report on US states. where unemployment claims fall the most which allows us to assess how the economy is developing in the different units of the country.

The United States cut unemployment to record lows earlier this year and has seen only minor fluctuations since, even as inflation has cooled.

“At the moment the job market is still in good, new shape Jobless claims fell 5.7% week-over-week on Aug. 28. However, a total of 6.4 million Americans are currently unemployed, and it is important to look at some key statistics from the last week to get the full picture,” WalletHub’s report said.

All states had unemployment claims last week which were lower than the previous week, except: Pennsylvania, Illinois, North Carolina, California, Nebraska, Virginia, New Mexico, Minnesota, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Colorado, Utah, Delaware, Maine, Washington, Massachusetts, Kansas, Dakota North, Connecticut , Iowa, Alaska, Indiana and Missouri.

And to find out where jobless claims are declining the most, WalletHub compared all 50 states and the District of Columbia based on changes in jobless claims over several key base weeks. The number of claims per 100,000 employees was also taken into account.
