in a statement Social Networks The US official made it clear that the criminal group “will face the law”, and also recalled that on May 13, the Mexican government captured Michel Baquesagua-Barriga, the leader of the Baquesagua arms smuggling organization.

Salazar pointed out that the investigation against these arms smugglers is a sign of our cooperation, as our governments have worked together since the beginning of 2022, exchanging information and achieving close cooperation to separate seizures.
“This research shows that together we are stronger and achieve greater results in favor of the safety and peace of our communities. This is another example that proves that criminals who violate our society have nowhere to hide. There is no place for them and they will have to face the law.
He recalled that in March 2022, through an operation carried out by the Mexican Armed Forces in Navojoa, Sonora, was achieved the largest seizure of firearms and ammunition in the history of that state.
The statement concluded, “The Bakasegua criminal group was responsible for seizing a large haul of approximately 190 firearms, more than 2.8 million rounds of ammunition and more than 14,000 chargers.”
