USA summons Reem and Wright; stephen and peppy out

Tim Ream, Haji Wright, Joe Scally and Sean Johnson were included in the United States’ World Cup squad, while Jack Stephens, Paul Ariola, Jordan Pefolk and Ricardo Pepi were dropped.

Manager Greg Berhalter on Wednesday revealed the 26-man squad that will assemble in Qatar ahead of next week’s opening match against Wales on 21 November.

DeAndre Yedlin (29 years old) is the only survivor of the team that played at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, becoming one of the youngest squads of 32 participants. Yedlin, Christian Pulisic, Kellyanne Acosta and Reem are from the team that left the team that toured Trinidad and Tobago at the end of the CONCACAF qualifiers, pulling out of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
