The new abortion law in Texas allows anyone involved in an abortion, now illegal, to sue after six weeks of pregnancy.

This provision of the new anti-abortion law can affect the taxi driver who takes the pregnant woman to a clinic, the friend who advises a doctor or even any association that provides financial assistance to the person who wishes to have an abortion.
For feminist associations, this opens the door to endless demands. In the case of unfounded allegations, the victim cannot claim reimbursement for court costs, especially since the law provides $ 10,000 in “compensation” to the plaintiff in the event of a court conviction.
Videos have been promoting a site to report lawbreakers for some time. “If you have evidence of an abortion after the baby’s heartbeat is audible, you can report it anonymously at prolifewhistleblower.com,” reads a video. The website was created in late August by the Texas Right to Life association.
“We have not created anything new”
But not everyone will use this platform, since a complaint must be valid to obtain the 10,000 dollars. For Nancy Pelosi, the leader of the Democrats in the House of Representatives, this law will push people to become bounty hunters.
But Kimberlyn Schwartz, the spokeswoman for Texas Right to Life, defends herself: “This is not an incentive to go after pro-abortionists. The idea of a reward, the $ 10,000, is a concept that already exists in Texas law. , as in Medicaid fraud cases [seguro de salud]. The abortion industry tries to make it look like Texas is going to be the Wild West, but we haven’t created anything new. ”
Since its inception a few days ago, prolifewhistleblower.com has received hundreds of spurious reports. A TikTok user posted code to send automatic reports to the site. Others post pornographic photos of the Shrek cartoon or the names of the wives and daughters of Texas elected officials who voted for this law.
