There’s a really easy way to save money on your broadband bill and it’s especially appealing for anyone who loves BT. UK mobile network EE just announced a major sales event Which, along with the usual iPhone and SIM-only deals, includes lower prices for its Internet services. You might not be aware that BT now owns EE after it bought the firm back in 2016 and the telecom giant actually powers EE’s broadband network.
This new sale means you can get BT-powered broadband at a much cheaper price than what BT can currently offer.
In fact, if you use EE’s mobile network you can get a deal that includes 36 Mbps broadband for £24 per month which is about £4 cheaper than a similar plan from BT.
There are also faster 70 Mbps downloads from EE which start at £27 – that’s a £4 savings over BT.
Along with offering those affordable prices there’s more good news as those with EE-powered phones will get an additional 5GB of data added to their plan when they pick up broadband with the firm.

Before you go for a new broadband plan, it’s a good idea to check what speed you really need. A home where one person is just checking email and surfing the web should easily cope with a 36 Mbps download. However, start adding more devices and additional family members who download movies and PS5 games and you want something really fast.
Most companies, including BT, Virgin, and EE, now offer full fiber on campus (FTTP) and it’s worth checking out if this technology is on your road now as it speeds up your downloads to speeds of up to 500 Mbps – it’s a great option. Fast enough to download full HD movies in under a minute.
