Uttarakhand glacier accident: 100-150 people feared drifted, helpline number released

The destruction of the glacier in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand has resulted in heavy destruction. It is feared that 100-150 people have been washed away by the sharp current of water. Uttarakhand Principal Secretary Om Prakash has expressed this apprehension.

Several villagers’ houses have been damaged due to the breaking of the glacier near Reni village in Chamoli district. This glacier is flowing along the banks of Dhauli Ganga river. More than 200 ITBP personnel are engaged in rescue work to deal with this disaster.

Helpline number released

The State Government has issued a helpline number to deal with the disaster or for any information or information about any place. You can get information in this regard by calling 1070 or 9557444486.

Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that a disaster has been reported from Chamoli district. He said that the district administration, police department and disaster management have been ordered to deal with this disaster. According to Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat:

“The Rishiganga project in Rini village of Chamoli is prone to damage due to heavy rains and sudden water logging. There is also a possibility of flooding in the lower areas of Alaknanda due to sudden arrival in the river. People have been alerted in coastal areas. People settled along the river are being removed from the area. As a precaution, the flow of Bhagirathi river has been stopped. To prevent the flow of water of Alaknanda, Srinagar Dam and Rishikesh Dam have been evacuated. SDRF is on alert. I beg you not to spread rumors. Pay attention to official authentic information only. I am leaving for the scene myself. ”
