On September 14, the presidents of the three colleges of the Valencian Council of Veterinary Colleges (CVCV) met for the first time with the Minister of Health, Marciano Gomez. The appointment was only a first contact, an approach designed to address the key issues affecting the profession. Before addressing the matter, the representatives of the college wanted to thank Gómez for his willingness to receive them personally. Immediately afterwards, the agreements that serve to articulate the collaboration between this department and schools were explained: the public health agreement for training activities, joint consumer information campaigns and the promotion of research and scientific dissemination. ; that which regulates the analysis of trichinella for meat from game and domestic slaughter intended for domestic consumption; and that which includes the role of schools in matters relating to veterinary medicine. In this context, it was suggested that greater emphasis be placed on prevention by promoting dissemination, awareness and information about food safety at both consumer and farm level, and by promoting research.

The CVCV also inquired about the status of the alarm decision, the special hours decision (pending for slaughterhouse staff) and the decision on the preparation of the preliminary draft for the integration of public health civil servants into the status of statutory staff.
