Between June and October this year in four regions of the north of the country, the exhibition “Young Look: 40 Years of the Young Art Contest” will be toured, a show that brings together a selection of works awarded by the traditional competition held since 1979. brings together. by Valparaíso University and which summons national artists up to 35 years of age.
Like last year the exhibition toured the south of Chile, again the collaborative action of the state universities will enable the itinerary to include Arica, Iquique, Antofagasta and Atacama. Likewise, the initiative is once again supported by the UVA 2193 project “Illuminating New Chile through Art, Culture and Heritage”, funded by the Ministry of Education.
The calendar considers the exhibition in Arica, in collaboration with the University of Tarapacá, from June 5 to June 26; in Iquique, with Arturo Pratt University, from July 5 to July 26; in Antofagasta, with the University of Antofagasta, from 7 to 28 August, and in Atacama, with the University of Atacama, from 25 September to 16 October
As explained by Christopher Ortega, Executive Movement Coordinator of the Youth Art Exhibition, “With this itinerary the University of Valparaíso confirms its aim to contribute to the narrowing of the gaps in access to artistic, cultural and heritage activities.”
The “Young Look” exhibition presents a selection of winning works from the different editions of the National Youth Art Competition, whose authors include Victor Maturana, Iván Cabazon, Enrique Zamudio, Edwin Rojas, Magdalena Vial, Álvaro Rojas, Cristel Vega, Paula Belmar, Carolina Are included. Agüero, Felipe Quinones and Giancarlo Bertini.
