From October 2nd, road operations will begin with roving vehicle verification modules called “Green Squadron”.
Parts of the road police may stop any vehicle that does not have a valid responsible verification sticker in accordance with the monthly plate calendar; or vehicles bearing the badge to confirm their legitimacy.
Currently, the fines for failure to comply with vehicle inspection are two thousand 74 pesos.
The scheduled calendar when verification is mandatory depends on the plate completion number: January 1-February; February 2-March; March-April, 3; April-May, 4; May 5-June; July 6-August; August-7. September; September-October, 8; October-9. November; November-December, 0.
On the other hand, falsifying official documents is a criminal offense and the penalty is two to six years in prison for anyone who produces, distributes or carries an apocryphal certificate or plaque, as well as the removal of the vehicle from traffic.
Responsible verification is not mandatory for visitors in transit or tourists, but they must request their temporary residence pass free of charge on the website:ificationresponsable.jalisco.gob.mx to allow the vehicle to enter or pass through the coverage area temporarily for up to 30 Calendar days per semester, which can be managed in multiple periods.
Foreign vehicles that are in traffic for more than 30 calendar days are considered permanent residents and must prove that they comply with the current mobility, traffic safety and transport law.
Before scheduling the verification appointment, you must make payment and wait for confirmation via email or SMS. The payment receipt is not the appointment confirmation and the payment confirmation has a waiting time depending on the method chosen: when paying by card through Mercado Pago, it is displayed immediately, allowing the appointment to be made immediately at the same location (no account required).
It may take up to one business day for online payments made using a bank card to be processed directly by the Ministry of Public Finance. For in-person payments made at pickups or at a bank counter, you must print a payment form, go to the location and after payment the waiting time can be a maximum of one business day for pickups up to three business days for bank windows. Once the payment is recorded, the citizen can return to the website to schedule their appointment.
Given the impending implementation of verification measures, “in the event of abuse of authority, motorists are requested to report the situation to the Internal Affairs Division of the State Security Secretariat at telephone number 33 38 19 24 00 with extension 17054. 17236 and 17218 or in person at Avenida Circunvalación s/n, corner of Alcalde Extension,” said a statement from the state government.
