Venezuela and Brazil to resume oil cooperation

Petroleos de Venezuela President. SA (PDVSA) and Petroleum Minister, Pedro Telecchia, met on Monday with his Brazilian counterpart, Alexandre Silveira, and agreed to restart energy and oil cooperation between the two countries.

“We are talking about cooperation on energy and oil issues to pursue joint projects in favor of our peoples,” Minister Telecchia explained in a press release.

In July they will hold technical working groups in the areas of hydrocarbons, mining and electric power.

The Agriculture Ministers of Venezuela and Brazil also held a meeting. They are Wilmer Castro Mateldo and Carlos Favaro, who also agreed on several points.

“We agreed on joint cooperation strategies and after this first meeting we will continue to work on protocols to consolidate a comprehensive MoU that allows countries to grow and develop their agri-food systems,” he insisted.
