This Friday, member states of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) expressed their solidarity with Venezuela.
At the IX Summit of Heads of State and Government, held in Guatemala, Venezuela reiterated its demand for the elimination of more than 900 sanctions imposed by the United States of America (USA) government.
Raul Le Couci, Deputy Minister for the Caribbean of the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Relations and Chairman of the Executive Board of Banco del Alba, explained that the highest meeting of the mechanism approved Antigua’s declaration, titled “Innovating Integration through the Greater Caribbean”. Furthermore, the document establishes the necessary mechanisms to be able to meet the challenges that may arise in the sector.
To this end, the 25 member states establish four strategic areas for development: air and sea interconnection, fair trade, sustainable tourism, and risk and disaster prevention.
The Bolivarian nation highlighted its unconditional commitment to the ACS as a mechanism to promote technical and solidarity cooperation in the region.
