Some of the roles currently hiring include station attendants with part-time positions available in Montreal, Kingston and Ottawa.
Station attendants can earn up to $29.26 per hour with VIA Rail and are responsible for things like checking tickets, making station announcements, and assisting passengers.
Some of the full-time positions available include a Customer Experience Manager in Toronto and Vancouver and an Operations Manager in Winnipeg.
Information and communications positions are also being hired, as well as locomotive engineers, who are responsible for operating trains carrying freight or passengers between stations across Canada.
While details about pay for the full-time positions are not shared, VIA Rail says it offers a “highly competitive compensation program.”
VIA Rail managers can earn up to $122,000 per year, while train conductors can earn up to $140,000, according to salaries on the Glassdoor job platform.
Employees can also benefit from a “profitable” pension scheme, and train season tickets for themselves and their families.
