Victoria took the lead and this Saturday collected three golden points after defeating Olancho FC 2-0 at the Juan Ramón Breve Stadium for the 11th matchday of the Apertura 2023 tournament.
“Jaiba” visited Olancho FC in Juticalpa. Donkeys recently beat the Maratón of Yankel Rosenthal, but the lack of effectiveness in Marlon Licona’s goal made the game complicated for them.
Victoria was also on fire, beating Real España 4-3 in an intense game at the Ceibeño stadium in which Frelys López was one of the big figures.
In the 15th minute, Nelson Muñoz knocked down Carlos Bernárdez in the Potros area. Héctor Rodríguez did not give a penalty in favor of the visit. The Belizean reached the edge of the area and fell to the center back of the eastern group.
The goal of “La Jaiba” came in the 24th minute after a long delay after the death of Luis Hurtado to Frelys López, who scored his third goal in two games.
Olancho FC tried to respond, but Kemsie Abbott and “Muma” Fernández could not punish the goal of the good Marlon Licona, who also joined the best players at the end of the 90′.
Starting the second half, Kemsie Abott wasted a clear shot in front of the opposition goal. The striker tried to cross the ball, but the lower zone of Victoria made a great save in the 46th minute.
In the 65th minute, Frelys López scored the donkeys’ goal again. Again, Luis Hurtado served diagonally towards the forward who finished with his left foot and placed the ball in the bottom left of Fonseca’s frame.
At the end of the second half, “Cachita” Gómez crossed the Victoria goal with a wonderful right foot, but Licona, who made a great game, saved the donkeys’ goal with his claws.
The bear of the night was made by Ángel Villatoro, who took on Marlon Licona, almost in front of the frame and his left foot shot went wide of Licona’s goal.
Héctor Rodríguez will blow the final whistle and Victoria has reached the provisional eighth place by adding 11 points, one more than Real España and two more than Lobos.
