Vida managed to keep Tocoa alive, where they accumulated a negative streak and earned a valuable 0-0 draw against Real Sociedad on the ninth matchday that ended the first round of the 2023 Apertura tournament.
The first half belonged to the home team, which, although it did not score any goals in the first 45 minutes, attacked on the left wing of the team led by Héctor Vargas.
The first warning came just three minutes after the start of the game. Diego Reyes found a pass into the open and finished with his left foot, but his shot went past the left post of Matías Quinteros’ goal.
In the 23rd minute, Samuel Pozantes attacked, found the ball on the edge of the opponent’s penalty area, fired a left-footed shot and the ball went over Vida’s frame.
Not much changed in his actions for the second phase as the locals continued to look for an opening on the scoreboard through their star Diego Reyes.
In the 60th minute he had one of the clearest goals of the game at his feet. The attacker freed himself and shot powerfully into the air with his right hand, but the ball could not be anchored in Matías Quinteros’ goal.
Towards the end of the game, Rony Martínez had a great opportunity to open the scoring with a great cross from Uruguayan Álvaro Torres. The midfielder scored sensationally, but the striker was unable to push the ball through.
Real Sociedad caressed the goal, the attacks from the wings hurt Vida. Shalton Arzú also almost celebrated, but his shot was deflected and the ball went past the left side of Matías Quinteros, the great figure of the duel.
