The government is taking all necessary steps.

It is being told that when this accident happened, a large number of laborers were working on the power projects of Rishiganga and Dhauliganga. Almost in this accident 150 people missing There is a possibility of happening. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat is constantly monitoring this incident. They have left for the spot. At the same time, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has asked for a report on this entire matter.

According to the information received, the barrage of the 24 MW hydro project under construction in Rani village on Rishiganga river under Chamoli district was broken after eviction on Sunday (February 7, 2021). After this, the heavy flow of debris and water moved towards Dhauliganga.

As a result, the barrage of 520 MW power project under construction on Dhauliganga River at Tapovan, about 10 km from Raini, was also destroyed. Things got worse after this. There are reports of large number of laborers working on both projects.

According to the ITBP, “Dhauliganga near Reni village has witnessed terrible floods where water bodies have been flooded due to cloudburst or reservoir breakdown and many houses along the river have been destroyed. The number of casualties is expected to increase. Hundreds of ITBP personnel have left for rescue. ”
