New Delhi: Krunal Pandya made a splash in the first ODI between India and England. Krunal blasted several records, hitting a brilliant half-century in 26 balls. Before the match and after his innings, Krunal Pandya cried a lot after hugging younger brother Hardik. Krunal became so emotional that he could not utter even a single word during the presentation ceremony. However, later he dedicated his innings to the late father.
Speaking to Hardik, Krunal said in the interview, Papa was in the dressing room with us. The day Papa left us, I was going to play the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match, but the news of my father’s death shook me. He was supposed to be with us that day as well, but that could not happen.
He used to have the habit of having a bag of clothes, hats and shoes ready whenever we had a match. Krunal said, Yesterday I brought that bag with him from Baroda to keep him with me. I did this so that he would be with us. On this, Hardik did this for the first time in our career, when father was with us in the ‘dressing room’.
Hardik asked, how did you feel when you were given the first ODI cap? On this, Krunal said, it was like a dream come true. I have worked very hard to get here. Especially in the last one and a half months, I tried very hard to come here. I worked hard for my diet and fitness.

Everything is dedicated to the father, everything became possible only because of his blessings. Krunal told Hardik, it was a very emotional moment to take the debut cap from you. Tuesday’s innings is a process of continuous learning.
Whether the result is good or bad, I do not want to miss trying. I have to give myself a chance to do my best. Father may have left us on the morning of January 16, but his blessings will always be with us.
