NEW YORK (AP) – World Series TV ratings have recovered from a record low last year.
The Atlanta Braves’ six-game win against the Houston Astros averaged 11.75 million on Fox, the channel reported on Wednesday.
That’s 20% more than the 9,785,000 for the Los Angeles Dodgers’ six-game win last year over the Tampa Bay Rays, which was played at neutral Arlington, Texas after a pandemic cut of the regular season.
The rating averaged 6.5 and 16 shares this year, up from 5.2 rating and 12 shares last year.
Viewers for the Braves-Astros match were below Washington’s seven-game 2019 win against Houston, which averaged 8.1 ratings, 16 shares and 14,067,000 spectators.
A record average of 227,164 streams this year at Fox digital retail outlets, up 49%.
Atlanta’s 7-0 win in Game 6, which completed the Braves’ first title since 1995, received a rating of 7.88, 18 shares and an average of 13,968,000 viewers on Fox.
That was above the 6.8 rating, 15 stakes and an average of 12,627,000 for the Dodgers 3-1 win in Game 6 last year, and below the 9.6 rating, 19 stake and an average of 16,551,000 for Washington won 7-2 in Match 6 last year. Game 6 2019.
Fox said that when Spanish-language coverage of Fox Deportes and streaming platforms was turned on, Game 6 was watched by 14,305,000 people.
