Kamal Haasan has once again proved his star power Success of his latest release Vikram, which broke the box office record of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in Tamil Nadu. The film has crossed Rs 150 crore in the state alone, surpassing Baahubali 2’s record of Rs 146 crore in 2017.
On Friday, film trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted that Vikram is all set to become the highest-grossing film of all time in the state. “#Vikram #Vishwasam & #Bahubali2 to surpass TN Gross soon to reach All-time No. 1 TN Grosser,” read his tweet. Reports said that the film had earned over Rs 125 crore till Friday and was sure to cross the Baahubali 2 mark by Saturday.
As per reports, the Kamal Haasan-starrer has managed to garner over Rs 350 crore globally. Currently, it ranks second on the list of highest-grossing Tamil films of all time, behind Rajinikanth’s 2018 blockbuster 2.0, which earned Rs 655 crore worldwide.
Kamal Haasan along with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, composer Anirudh Ravichander, co-star Vijay Sethupathi and the film’s distributors addressed fans at an event and thanked them for showering so much love on the film. Vikram marked Kamal Haasan’s first release in 10 years.

Speaking at the event, Kamal Haasan’s friend Udayanidhi Stalin said that he always believed that Vikram would be a hit. “I was the first to watch the film even before it was released. After the interval block, my mind was bogged down because Tamil cinema has never seen such an interval block. After the film, I was sure it would be a hit,” he said. Told.
Stalin, who distributed the film under Red Giant Movies, continued, “However, to be honest, I never thought it would be such a big hit. Anirudh was telling me that I would get a refund for the next film. The distribution rights of the area should be given. As far as the collection is concerned, the share of Red Giant films in Tamil Nadu alone has crossed Rs 75 crore. No film holds such a record.”
Earlier, during a press conference, Kamal Haasan talked about Vikram’s success. He said, ‘When I said ‘I can earn Rs 300 crore in one stroke’, no one understood. They thought I was banging my chest. You can see it is coming now (Vikram Box Office Collection). I will pay off all my debts, I will eat to my heart’s content and I will give whatever I can to my family and friends. After that if I have nothing left, I will say that I have nothing more to offer. I don’t want to pretend to help others by taking someone else’s money. I don’t want any grand titles. I just want to be a good person,” Kamal said.
