Lucknow: A very disturbing scene has emerged from the Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, just 40 km from the capital Lucknow. Outside a government hospital in the district, a father is carrying his dead five-month-old baby, who alleged that no doctor treated the infant for two hours, leading to his death.
However, Barabanki Chief Medical Officer BKS Chauhan issued a press note claiming that the child was brought dead to the hospital. Chauhan said that the doctors on duty examined the infant and found him dead.
“The superintendent of the hospital told me that both the doctor and paramedical staff on emergency duty examined the child. The child’s parents told us that the child fell from the roof,” Chauhan said in a video statement.
The incident took place at the government-run Community Health Center in Sirauli Gauspur, Barabanki on Sunday evening. The same campus also has a 100-bed Kovid Hospital for mild cases.
Mobile phone video shot by viewers showed the man holding the dead child in his arms and crying outside the hospital gate. In the video, his wife is also sitting away.
The man can be seen moaning in a video. Told him, “All these people just keep talking about COVID-19. Nobody wants to touch a patient out of fear of Kovid. There is not a single doctor here to see my baby. He is just a bed.” Fell from and she died. “
The man is asking, is this the system here?
Another video clip shows the man crying. In which he is saying that it has been two hours. Not a single doctor came. Someone said be patient. My baby is dead and should I be patient? “
In a third video clip, a group of policemen are seen talking to the man at the hospital gate.
A policeman can be heard saying what is this drama? To which the man has said that my daughter has died and you say that this is a drama.
The same policeman then tells the person to “calm down” and also provide a written complaint for action.
