The Health Ministry has convened a meeting of the Public Health Alert and Preparedness and Response Plan Report, made up of health experts, autonomous communities and medical societies, to report on the findings of the Health Security Committee (HSC) this Friday. The European Union summit was held this Thursday before the surge in COVID-19 cases in China.
The Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, has convened a press conference at the ministry this Friday at 9:00 am to report on the development of the COVID-19 pandemic precisely and the current situation of the epidemic in China.
Following the HSC meeting this Thursday, Health recommends that travelers to Spain whose destination or origin is China have a complete vaccination schedule and maintain precautionary measures. For the time being, it does not announce the request for a negative test, as Italy and the United States have already done, nor any other additional measures at airports.
For now, TwentySeven stresses the importance of continuing active surveillance, including virus sequencing as a fundamental tool.
Spain has also stressed the importance of “continuing the path of European coordination in health policies” in this meeting. In addition, it has called on those who have not completed their vaccination regimen to do so, and has stressed the importance of being vaccinated with a second booster dose, specially adapted for the most vulnerable.
