Visa for US: These are the waiting times to get it

Of most concern to those who are interested in traveling to the United States is a long waiting time. Which means making an appointment to reach the interview required for the visa of the said country.

The waiting time for any type of visa is, on average, 23 calendar days in the case of a person who is eligible for an interview waiver (see the United States Embassy website).

Renewal process has been expedited

The embassy says that for those who need interviews, “we can expedite appointments for visas based on (employment) petitions, students traveling for degree programs and genuine and documented medical emergencies.”

It added: “Non-emergency tourist visa applicants who wish to obtain an earlier appointment should check our appointment webpage to see if earlier appointments are available.”
