The visa application process to enter the United States is a process that requires time, resources and even trained personnel to carry out a full evaluation of each applicant.
In Colombia, the visa application fee for Americans is confirmed by the US Department of State, and is applied to all persons who make a request. Although the costs may vary depending on the type of visa that is processed and in some cases may include both the processing cost and the cost of the conversation.

How much will the cost of visas in the United States increase?
If you are interested in the process of going on an American visa, you should know that the United States of America Department of State has announced that in June 2023 the prices will be increased.
As is known, Colombians who complete the process from the national territory will have to pay an increase of 25 dollars for a non-migrant (tourist) visa, which is equivalent to about 12,000 modern pesos.

To date, people who apply for an American tourist visa must pay 160 dollars, which is about 740,000 Colombian pesos, but now the cost is 185 dollars ($863,000) as of May 30 to pay this type of application.
Another increase in visas to the United States
In addition to these adjustments in the tourist visa, the US State Department also announced to increase the temporary work visas (H, L, O, P, Q and R), since they have risen from $190 to $205, that is a difference of $15, which is an additional payment of $69,900.

Likewise, those who apply for merchant and investor visas (E) will have to pay an additional 115 dollars, while it currently stands at 205 dollars, and from June it will increase to 315 dollars; that is, 1,460,340 pesos (at the exchange rate).
These increases made by the US government will be justified in consular costs that have to assume the process of visas and have also indicated that since 2014, no readability and price review.
