A dramatic reduction in visa application procedures was recorded at the Mexican embassy in Havana last September.
The reduction in the number of requests was published by the Aztec diplomatic delegation itself, which, in turn, made a summary in the ninth month of the year.
According to the X profile, formerly Twitter, of the Mexican consulate in Cuba, only 382 visas have been approved in all categories. In this case, the information refers to permits for family relations and tourism, etc. To give you a more precise idea of the severe reduction in these procedures to obtain a visa, in July 960 were extended and in August 1,696. It was also announced that in September 668 the legalization documents were processed.
The permanent diplomatic delegation of Cuba added in its report that no birth of Mexican citizens was registered in the Island last September. Meanwhile, only seven passports of the same nationality are given to people who request them at its head office.
One of the possible reasons cited by consular officials may be the relocation of their headquarters to a new location. Today, the offices are located at Calle 18, #507, between 5th and 7th, Miramar, Playa. The change was made to improve services in all aspects.
Cuban and Mexican citizens have a more central location to attend to their consular needs and requests.
In its offices, the new headquarters offers many services. For example, visa applications, legalization and passport renewal are processed. Likewise, procedures such as birth registration and public faith activities will be conducted.
The consular authorities suggest that you consult the corresponding information before making a procedure. The specific details of each process can vary, so it’s important to stay on top of things.
