Week 5 High School football action begins Friday.

The rankings were voted on by a panel made up of Daily Gazette sports editor Michael Kelly, staff writers Stan Hoody, Adam Schinder and Paul Weger, and contributors Jim Schiltz and Will Springstedt.
1 Shakers (4-0) visit No. 2 CBA (5-0) this Friday in the top game of the week. No. 3 Shenendhova (3-1) bounced back from her loss to Shaker with a 41-6 win against Bethlehem, while No. 4 Guilderland (3-1) scored a point since their Week 2 loss to Plainsmen. is not allowed. Colony (1-4) and Saratoga Springs (1-3) are tied at number 5.

With their fourth consecutive win, No. 1 Niskyune (4-1) topped this classification poll. 2 Burnt Hills-Bolston Lake (3-1) has already played three road games this season, and its only road game is at top-ranked Niscune. 3 Amsterdam (3-0) pulled off one of the biggest wins of the season with a one-point win against Avril Park last weekend. No. 4 La Salle Institute (2-2) hosts Queensbury this week, while No. 5 Avril Park (3-2) hosts Niscune in the best Class A game of the week.

1 Ravenna-Koymans-Selkirk (4-0) have won each of their Class B games by at least 22 points. 2 Glens Falls (3-1) in a 39-14 win against Hudson Falls in the “Jug Game”. No. 3 Charlotte (3-1) will travel to Ravenna to make a statement this Friday. No. 4 Gloversville (3-2) coming up with a 34-6 win against No. 5 Mohansen (2-2).

In the best game of Week 5 of this classification, No. 2 Husick Falls/Tamarack (3-1) hosts No. 3 Fonda-Fultonville (3-2). 4 Hudson (4-1) has beaten his opponents 201–13 since a 45–0 loss to Schuylerville to start his season. No. 5 Watervalet (4-1) heads to Coxsackie-Athens this week.
